About the author
David petrie.
Hi there! I’m a fashion and food-obsessed writer of fantasy with a comedic twist. My first book (Party Hard) was published in 2018 and I’ve been hitting the keyboard ever since. Currently, I’m working on a post-apocalyptic comedy series called, Necrotic Apocalypse. If you like magic zombies, ridiculous battles, and quirky characters, give it a try.

End of Month Author Update – October 2023

Hey, accomplices. Necrotic 6 is written (and I’m still playing a lot of Baldur’s Gate)
Spooky months is over and I have eaten too much candy. I always tell myself that this year will be different, but in the end, there’s leftover candy and I can’t be reasoned with. On the upside I watched a lot of fun Halloween movies. I started with Evil Dead Rise, Megan, Ready or Not (from a few years ago), then finished things off with FNAF. The first few I’d definitly recomend. FNAF was more of the right kind of bad, so it could be a fun time for the right audience.
Evil Dead is a series that I keep coming back to. I saw Army of Darkness for the first time at a sleep over and honestly it’s one of the biggest influences for Necrotic Apocalypse. I went to see Bruce Campell live not long ago and was really impressed at how great he was. There’s a reason why I keep going back to that series every few years.
Now that Halloween is over, I must warn you, if anyone starts playing Christmass music before thanksgiving I will riot.
Anyway, here’s the update.
Necrotic Apocalypse 6: Revelations – Frist draft is finished! The rough chapters are still being posted to Patreon . I think it’s up to ch 10. I’m digging into the editing pass now. Should take a bout a month. Narration is still scheduled for March 2024 so release should be about a month or so after that depending on publisher’s schedule.
Pixel Dust 4: Carpe Diem – 70k words written (50%) New chapters are being posted to Patreon
Dusk 1: City of Shade and Spark – 3k. This is a new series in process that I’m working on a tiny bit and will be slowly releasing on Patreon for now. It’s about death! Fun! I can’t wait to spend more time with it but I will have to finish the Necrotic serries before that happens.
Untitled Fantasy Series – Outlined. That’s it. It’s a cute story. WIll update more when it has a real title.
Other things to know:
There’s some interesting stuff in the works and I’m planning on doing a few livestreems on facebook to test some stuff. So go follow there for updates. I also joined a couple pannels for the online convention that the LitRPG FB group held. If you want to hear me talk about character writing or diversity go look those up.
Also, there’s still a couple signed hardcover copies of Pixel Dust available on my site on my website. I didn’t order a lot so they are going fast. Necrotic hardcovers are also in the works so they should be ready soon.
That’s it!
End of Month Author Update – September 2023

Hey, accomplices. I’m back on track! (when I’m not playing Baldur’s Gate)
Other writers I know joke that they always get stuck at a certain part of the story. It’s when things go wrong and get emotional. There’s a lot of fun and games untill they hit that part and then it’s like hitting a wall. For me, it’s the opposite. I struggle to stay motivated in the middle chapters when everything is going well for the characters and they’re making progress. No, I need to hurt them. Once we get to the tough times, things just start coming together for me. So yeah, book 6 of Necrotic is gettin there.
Necrotic Apocalypse 6: Revelations – 110K words written (75%) New chapters are being posted to Patreon Narration is scheduled for March 2024 so release should be about a month or so after that depending on publisher’s schedule.
I’m still new to Bluesky and have like 6 followers so come join me. I’m really hopiing this app takes off so we can let twitter die. But that all depends on if regular people actually go over there and not just creators. Right now it’s just a bunch of content creators and furrys.
Other Stuff!
I just put up signed hardcover copies of Pixel Dust on my website for sale. I’ll do a bigger post here to anounce it but, yeah, they are available now. I hope to get Necrotic hardcovers at some point too, there was just more demand for Pixel Dust so it gote formatted first.
Also, I’m going to the county fair this weekend. Not in any professional capacity. I’m just gonna eat a turkey leg and a bunch of other stuff that I probably shouldn’t and I’m ecited. I know I always say I’m gonna take pictures to share on the discord but I’m reall y going to try. Also join the discord.
Also also, Baldur’s Gate is fun. I made Parker as a character and it’s been a great time. She makes every situation awkward and is trying her best to romance EVERYONE. It’s so nice to have a turn based game again. Some advice for your own game, don’t play with my friends unless you want a overly muscular nude halfling running around the background everytime you talk to anyone.
Union rises!

Until the writer’s strike is over, I’ll be donating all proceeds of the new Union design to the Entertainment Community Fund. So join the horde and support a cause.

End of Month Author Update – August 2023

Hey, accomplices. I’m a little late on this update since DragonCon was a hard week. Here’s an update on everything. Writing is still moving slow. I got sick, followed by a power outage that lasted days, then a flat tire. I’m pretty sure is pissed off all the gods. Anyway, here’s the update.
Necrotic Apocalypse 5: Rebirth – is still out! As always, be sure to leaf a review! Amazon Link Audible Link
Necrotic Apocalypse 6: Revelations – 83K words written (65%) New chapters are being posted to Patreon
I’m still new to Bluesky and have like 6 followers so come join me.
I just received an order of hardcover Pixel Dust books which I know a few of you have been asking for. They will be available in the shop soon.
DRAGON CON!
Had a good time as usual. Though, my AirBNB did cancel on me the day of, leaving me and Sam scrambling for a hotel. Then the hotel lost power. Then I got sick. It was a weird trip. Didn’t get to take a lot of pictures but it was fun and I got to catch up with some friends. And it’s always good to see Travis. If you’re ever in the Atlanta area, go check out Monk’s Meadery . We went there in a whim with Ryan and Shermer and it was some of the best mead that I’d had. Other than that, it was a good trip. I just wish I’d gotten to see some some friends a little longer, once a year isn’t enough.
End of Month Author Update – July 2023

Hey, accomplices. Here’s an update on everything. Writing has moved a lil slow since the release of Rebirth. A lot of authors celebrate each release I, however, ten to fall down a depression spiral. I still don’t know why that is but I’m finally getting clear of it and back to work.
Necrotic Apocalypse 5: Rebirth – is out! As always, be sure to leaf a review! Amazon Link Audible Link
Necrotic Apocalypse 6: Revelations – 70K words written (55%) New chapters are being posted to Patreon
Twitter sucks now. Ok, it always kinda sucked, but now it is so much worse. So I have moved over to the Bluesky app . I Have, like, 3 followers but it’s a much more chill place so far. I’ll still post general updates on twitter but I may start using Bluesky more often. I know it’s still invite only but if you happen to get over there, come follow me.
July Author Update

Author Update – July 2023
Hey, to all my accomplices.
I get so many questions about releases and stuff, so I thought doing a monthly update on everything would be helpful. Let’s see if I can keep it up from here on or if I forget entirely. My memory is not great.
Also, here’s a picture of one of my cats because I need an image. His name’s Max and he’s not bright.
Necrotic Apocalypse 5: Rebirth – Releases on July 26 (Kindle, Paperback, Audio) Amazon Link Audible Link
Necrotic Apocalypse 6: Revelations – 50K words written (45%)
Pixel Dust 4: Carpe Diem – 70k words written (50%)
I’ve finally got the Facebook account back under control after it was hacked, so that nightmare is over. Though I will have to delete the old Facebook page. So if you are following me here you need to unfollow and then follow the new page here . I’m also starting to use the Facebook group which you can join here . Trying to actually use my social media, like a real, professional author. I hate it so much. Facebook is the worst. So is Twitter.
Just a quick update on Necrotic Book 5 and other stuff
The first draft of Necrotic Apocalypse book 5, Rebirth, has been finished. It is currently 175K words and is the longest book I have written. There’s a lot of character work and level progression, plus some ridiculous battles, so it should have something for everyone. Now that the draft is done, I have to edit it. I have a few chapters to rewrite and some significant streamlining so this should take me until the end of February.
Once I hand it in, it goes into Mountaindale’s editing schedule so I can’t comment on when it will be released, but I will update here when I know something more concrete. Like the others in the series, it should come out on the same day as the audio, so at least there’s that. I plan to work on Pixel Dust book 4 while Rebirth is going through professional editing, so look forward to that.
Also, a heads up I lost access to my facebook account. So, I have made a new one and a new author page that can be found here . The old one is still up unfortunately, and I am fighting to get it taken down to avoid confusion. The whole situation is maddening, and I lost a solid week of writing dealing with it. Good lord I hate social media companies. So yeah, go like the new page.
Anyway, that’s it!

Signed Books and Merch Now Available

I am wicked excited to announce that I have finally got my new site set up.
This means i now have a functional store.
Readers have been asking for signed books for, well, a long time. Now you can order every book I’ve written so far, signed by me (in my terrible penmanship.) I’m going to try and keep a stock of them but shipping times may still vary depending on inventory since I have to buy my copies from Amazon.
Also, through Printful.com, I can now produce some awesome apparel. So far we have two designs for Necrotic Apocalypse available on a variety of products. Personally, I recommend the lightweight hoodie. (Seriously, they are the most fashionable hoodies I’ve ever owned.)
I know you’ve been DYING for some sweet necromancer stuff, and I’m here for you. Show off your love of Tavern and Asher with a Sup Bro shirt. Or relive the final battle from book one with this Let’s Go hoodie.

Also, I am in the process of adding some Pixel Dust FASHION as well, so I’ll post an update when it’s ready. All I can say right now is that it’s coming out great.
There’s also a bunch of mugs and other random stuff. So click the merch button at the top of the page and have at it.
Rend: Book 3 of the Necrotic Apocalypse series is out!

An empire on the rise.
Sin City struggling to survive.
Rules are meant to be broken.
Digby Graves is done running. He wants to make good on his declaration of war, which means he’s going to need allies and a land to call his own. That’s where Las Vegas comes in: what better kingdom could a necromancer ask for than the city of Sin itself? With an opportunist turned kingpin, an army of fanatics, and a hive full of monsters standing in his way, the stakes have never been higher. It will take every spell and underhanded tactic in his arsenal to carve out a victory. Even though he’s drawing in allies, the cards are stacked against him. Henwick is bent on ruling the world, and is willing to sacrifice anything or anyone to win. The only power that might sway the odds in Digby’s favor has been locked down by his enemy… for now. With everything on the line, Digby is going to need an ace up his sleeve to come out on top. It’s time to assemble a crew and pull off the heist of the millennium.

Revenant book 2 of the Necrotic Apocalypse is out!

A zombie on the run.
The curse has been hijacked.
Time for patient zero to step up.
The human race has become an endangered species in the two weeks since the bomb fell in Seattle. Luckily for Digby, that’s not his problem. Skyline believes that he and his coven were burnt to cinders, so all he needs to do is lay low. Well, that was what he hoped would happen.
Instead, Henwick’s plan to hijack the curse was successful, spreading a new kind of monster across the land. They’re faster, stronger, and more lethal than the dead that came before. With these creatures on the prowl, it doesn’t take long before the apocalypse once again comes knocking at Digby’s door.
His plan to laze around is foiled, so Digby grudgingly sets out in search of a new home. With new allies and adversaries to keep an eye on, his coven will have to uncover the secrets behind Henwick’s plans.
Is creating a safe haven enough, or will Digby be forced to go to war? GRAB IT NOW
