Everything to Know About the 2018 Dodge Recall

In May 2018, automaker Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recalled over 4.8 million vehicles, which included many Dodge cars, trucks and SUVs, notes Cars.com. If you drive a Dodge vehicle that falls into this category, keep reading to learn more about the recall and what you need to do.

Reason for the Recall

The reason the automaker recalled 4.8 million vehicles relates to a problem with using cruise control that could lead to a major safety hazard. The issue is in the wiring, and it could potentially prevent a driver from turning off cruise control when using this feature. This can happen whether you’re trying to turn it off manually or by tapping the brakes. Because of this, the car will not slow down and may even gain speed while on the road, putting it at risk for a crash, according to Cars.com.

Which Vehicles Were Affected?

The recall impacted many makes and models beyond Dodge vehicles, including Jeep Cherokees, Jeep Grand Cherokees, Jeep Wranglers and an assortment of Chrysler sedans and minivans. Within the Dodge family, the recall affected several vehicles manufactured between 2014 and 2019. They include Dodge Charger sedans, Journey and Durango SUVs, Ram 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks, Ram 3500 (more than 10,000 pounds) trucks and 4500 and 5500 cab-chassis trucks, according to Cars.com.

What to Do If You Own One of These Vehicles

In July of 2018, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles began notifying the owners of these vehicles via mail about the recall. If you did not receive a notification, you can still have the problem fixed by taking your vehicle to your local dealership. In the meantime, it’s advised that you do not use cruise control. If for some reason you do use cruise control and you find that the vehicle won’t slow down, press your brake with your foot as hard as you can. Keep your foot on the brake, and shift the car into neutral. Once you stop in a safe location, put the car into park, says Cars.com.

How the Company Will Fix It

If you take your vehicle to the dealership, it’s a relatively easy fix. All they need to do is inspect and update the software on your engine and power train. The fix is free of charge. If you have any questions about the recall or where to find a dealership that can handle the repair, call Fiat Chrysler’s customer service line at 800-853-1403. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration can also provide more information, including whether your vehicle is recalled.

The Discovery of the Problem

Thankfully, as of the date of the recall, no one was injured due to the problem with the cruise control, reports USA Today. The company only had one report that the driver of a 2017 Dodge Journey SUV was unable to stop cruise control, notes Automotive News. The company reported that the potential for the problem to impact a vehicle was extremely rare, but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration still advised Dodge and other impacted vehicle owners to stop using cruise control until the issue was resolved, according to Automotive News.

2018 Midterm Elections a Defining Moment for Ted Cruz and the State of Texas

The veteran Senator from Texas, Ted Cruz, faces a stiff challenge from up and coming Beto O’Rourke in the 2018 Midterm elections. Recent polls show Cruz’s lead shrinking to as little as under four percentage points as the race heats up in the final days before the election.

At stake is not only a difference in the direction for Texas on issues like immigration and healthcare, but a tousle for control of a state that President Trump won narrowly in 2016.

Demographics in Texas allowed then-candidate Hillary Clinton to mount a formidable challenge to eventual winner for the state in the presidential race. Now, under the leadership of O’Rourke, the Democrats are back, and a win in the Midterms would mean a drastic change of the guard.

Big Stakes for Cruz and the Republicans

Ted Cruz has been the junior Senator for the state of Texas since his election to that position in the 2012 elections. Since his election, Cruz has made inroads in the Republican base nationally, leading to a run for the presidential nomination in 2016. In those elections, Cruz was one of the insiders who presented a failed challenge to political newcomer Donald Trump.

In his time in the US Senate, Cruz has been noted for his clashes with Democrats under former President Obama. Cruz was a leader of the resistance against Obamacare, as well as championing the elimination of birthright citizenship. In an ironic turn, these last issues have brought his views more in line with those of President Trump.

The O?Rourke Challenge

Beto O’Rourke’s policy positions going into the midterm elections promise a radical departure from what Texans have come to expect under Ted Cruz. O’Rourke, a Democrat from El Paso, has gained support among Democrats as well as Independent voters.

Voters in the state of Texas are focused on domestic policy issues going into the midterms, with immigration and healthcare being particularly important. The state has historically been solidly Republican, but attitudes are changing. For example, many in the state support efforts to create a ‘guest worker’ program to allow seasonal workers into the country for agricultural work.

Polls Paint Division by Demographics

Polls show that Texas voters’ preferences are partly defined by demographics. Younger voters were more likely to identify with Democrat Beto O’Rourke’s policy positions. On the other hand, middle-aged and older voters were more likely to go with Ted Cruz.

Crucially, in the gubernatorial race, Republicans were faring much better than the Democrats. The incumbent, Governor Greg Abbott, a Republican, led Democratic challenger Lupe Valdez by over 20 percentage points in the polls. The race between Cruz and O’Rourke is one of the most watched in the current midterms. Democrats are hoping that a new ‘blue wave’ led by the likes of Beto O’Rourke can take back control of the Senate to pave way for Democratic maneuvers.

Why Ted Cruz Should Be Able to Survive

While Beto O’Rourke has mounted a formidable challenge to Senator Cruz, it’s unclear if the state of Texas is ready to break completely with the past. After all, just a few years back, the state backed Trump. In the time since, the state has lined up solidly behind many of the president’s landmark, and sometimes controversial, policy initiatives. That the state would make a sudden about-face is rather unlikely.

Nonetheless, Beto O’Rourke managed to outscore Ted Cruz in fundraising going into the race. This shows that there is enough support among voters for a more nuanced approach to the debate over policy. One issue on which Republicans are having problems is selling President Trump’s tax cut to the middle class.

The Future For Ted Cruz And The State Of Texas

While the 2018 midterms provide an opportunity for Democrats to make their impact felt around the state of Texas, Senator Cruz should come out relatively unscathed. While his lead in the polls continued to shrink going into the elections, he is solidly in line with the rest of his party. If President Trump’s popularity proves enduring, Ted Cruz, a former opponent, could actually end up banking on that support. Going forward, if the Republicans hold Texas, the future could be more of President Trump and his taking over of the Republican establishment.

This article describes update 4011564 for Microsoft PowerPoint 2016 that was released on January 2, 2018. This update has a  prerequisite . Be aware that the update on the Microsoft Download Center applies to the Microsoft Installer (.msi)-based edition of Office 2016. It doesn't apply to the Office 2016 Click-to-Run editions, such as Microsoft Office 365 Home. ( How to determine? )

Start an Office 2016 application.

On the File menu, select Account .

For Office 2016 Click-to-Run installations, an Update Options item is displayed. For MSI-based installations, the Update Options item isn't displayed.

How to uninstall this update

Go to Start , enter View Installed Updates  in the Search Windows  box, and then press Enter.

In the list of updates, locate and select KB4011564, and then select  Uninstall .

Why do we need to pay now. why do we have to pay i mean before we had it for free why now tho i cant pay even tho i need to do presentations bu t how im i supposed to pay for a powerpoint when i cant convince my parents to give me money to go to the cinema?  More
