Talacre Lighthouse

Historic building virtual tours of the Point of Ayr Lighthouse (also known as Talacre Lighthouse), which is the oldest lighthouse in Wales. It’s situated on Talacre Beach in North Wales, not far from Prestatyn.

Talacre Lighthouse was built in 1777 in response to the 1775 storms where 2 ships ran aground at a cost of 200 lives and around £40,000 of cargo. The lighthouse has featured in a Dulux Paint TV commercial.

When exploring the 360s, be sure to check out the views from the gallery, standing next to the 7ft stainless steel sculpture of the lighthouse keeper.

All the work I produce starts with a high resolution photograph taken by me and then I add very thin layers of colours. Each colour interacts with all the other colours that have already been laid down creating a fusion of tints and shades. I cant always tell how an image will end up, some can only take a few hours, other days and some dont even work at all. Once I am happy with the end result and print it, then it is very hard to tell if it has been produced digitally or has actually been painted and with my work it is a case of the bigger the better. Most people really think that my images are painted and not produced digitally. Each image has a print run of 100 and signed. Print Sizes - A1 - 84.1 x 59.4 cm or 33.1 x 23.4 in, A2 - 59.4 x 42.0 cm or 23.4 x 16.5 in A3 - 42.0 x 29.7 cm or 16.5 x 11.7 in A3 prints posted within 3 working days A2 &A1 prints posted within 7 working days
