Sudoku for Beginners: How to Improve Your Problem-Solving Skills
Are you a beginner when it comes to solving Sudoku puzzles? Do you find yourself frustrated and unsure of where to start? Fear not, as we have compiled a comprehensive guide on how to improve your problem-solving skills through Sudoku.
Understanding the Basics of Sudoku
Before we dive into the strategies and techniques, let’s first understand the basics of Sudoku. A Sudoku puzzle is a 9×9 grid that is divided into nine smaller 3×3 grids. The objective is to fill in each row, column, and smaller grid with numbers 1-9 without repeating any numbers.
Starting Strategies for Beginners
As a beginner, it can be overwhelming to look at an empty Sudoku grid. But don’t worry. There are simple starting strategies that can help you get started. First, look for any rows or columns that only have one missing number. Fill in that number and move on to the next row or column with only one missing number. Another strategy is looking for any smaller grids with only one missing number and filling in that number.
Advanced Strategies for Beginner/Intermediate Level
Once you’ve mastered the starting strategies, it’s time to move on to more advanced techniques. One technique is called “pencil marking.” This involves writing down all possible numbers in each empty square before making any moves. Then use logic and elimination techniques to cross off impossible numbers until you are left with the correct answer.
Another advanced technique is “hidden pairs.” Look for two squares within a row or column that only have two possible numbers left. If those two possible numbers exist in both squares, then those two squares must contain those specific numbers.
Benefits of Solving Sudoku Puzzles
Not only is solving Sudoku puzzles fun and challenging, but it also has many benefits for your brain health. It helps improve your problem-solving skills, enhances memory and concentration, and reduces the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease.
In conclusion, Sudoku is a great way to improve your problem-solving skills while also providing entertainment. With these starting and advanced strategies, you’ll be able to solve even the toughest Sudoku puzzles. So grab a pencil and paper and start sharpening those brain muscles.

Laptop Hangs And Computer Freezes: How To Avoid And Quickly Fix

If you've been using computers long enough, you've probably encountered the infuriating problem of a computer that hangs or freezes. It is incredibly frustrating, can impact your productivity, and even cause you to lose data if you have yet to save your work. But what exactly causes a laptop to hang or a computer to freeze, and what can you do to avoid or quickly fix the issue?
What Causes Laptops To Hang And Computers To Freeze?
Overheating.
One of the primary causes of laptop hang and computer freezes is overheating. When a computer overheats, it can cause the system to slow down or even come to a complete halt. If your laptop feels warm to the touch, it's a sign that it may be overheating. Overheating can be caused by a clogged fan, a malfunctioning cooling system, or by placing the laptop on surfaces that block the air vents.
Not Enough RAM
If you have insufficient RAM for the programs you use, it can cause your laptop hang and computer freezes. Your laptop needs enough RAM to run all the programs you have open, so if you're using many memory-intensive applications, you may need to upgrade your system's RAM.
Malware Or Virus Infections
Malware or virus infections can also cause your computer to hang or freeze. If your computer is infected, the malware may be eating up system resources, causing your computer to slow down or stop responding. Ensure you have installed anti-malware software and keep it up to date to help prevent malware infections.
What Are The Standard Ways To Fix A Frozen Computer?

Use the Task Manager to end tasks.
If your computer has frozen, one of the first things you can try is to end the task causing the problem using the Windows Task Manager. To open the Task Manager, press Ctrl+Shift+Esc, find the program causing the issue, and click the "End Task" button.
Reboot the computer
If ending the task doesn't work, you can reboot the computer. Press the power button and hold it down until the computer turns off. Wait a few seconds, then press the power button again to turn it back on.
Reinstall the operating system.
If the problem persists, you may need to reinstall the operating system. However, this should be done as a last resort, as reinstalling the operating system can erase all your data and files.
How can I troubleshoot my laptop if it keeps hanging?
Check the hard drive for errors..
If your laptop keeps hanging, it may indicate a problem with your hard drive. To check for errors, open File Explorer, right-click on the drive, and select "Properties." Click on the "Tools" tab, and then click "Check" under "Error-checking."
Update Windows and device drivers.
Updating your operating system and device drivers can help improve system stability and reduce the chances of your laptop hanging or freezing. To update, go to "Settings," click on "Update and Security," and then click "Check for updates."
Boot in safe mode
If your laptop is still hanging or freezing, try booting safely. Safe mode starts Windows with only the essential drivers and services needed, which can help identify and resolve issues. To start in safe mode, press the F8 key during startup and select "Safe Mode."
How to avoid laptop hangs and computer freezes?
Keep the laptop or computer clean and dust-free.
One of the best ways to avoid laptop overheating and computer freezing is to keep your laptop or computer clean and dust-free. Regularly clean the air vents and use a laptop cooling pad to prevent overheating.
Install anti-malware software and keep it up to date.
To prevent malware and virus infections, install anti-malware software and keep it up to date. Use reputable software that can scan your system in real-time and detect threats before they cause damage to your system.
Have enough RAM for the programs you use
Ensure your system has enough RAM to support the programs you use regularly. Check if your laptop has a RAM slot, so you can add more RAM or get a new laptop with sufficient memory.
What should I do if the laptop doesn't respond at all?
Press and hold the power button to force shut down.
If your laptop doesn't respond, you can force a shut down by pressing and holding the power button for a few seconds. Wait a few seconds, and then turn the laptop back on.
Check if the power supply is connected properly.
Another reason your laptop may not respond is due to a power issue. Ensure your laptop is properly connected to the power supply and the battery is charged.
Uninstall recently installed programs.
If your laptop hang and computer freezes after installing new software, try uninstalling the program to see if it resolves the issue. Computers and laptops can be prone to hang and freeze, but by following the tips above, you can avoid these issues and quickly fix them if they occur. Remember to keep your system clean and updated, use anti-malware software, and have enough RAM for the programs you use to keep your system running smoothly.

What To Do When Your Laptop Constantly Hangs
If your laptop has started to slow down or if it keeps freezing when you are in the middle of something important, it can pose a huge problem to your productivity and image, especially when you are in an important meeting or getting some critical work done. However, that does not necessarily mean that it’s time to upgrade to a new laptop. It definitely means that your laptop needs some attention. Be it a Dell laptop, an HP laptop, or a Lenovo laptop, one of the most common questions asked by laptop users is, “ Why does my laptop keep hanging ? ” or “ What to do when laptop freezes “. This is a common issue with most laptops, whether it is running Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, or even macOS.
In this article, we will help you in knowing the most common reasons why laptops hang or freeze, and we will also show you how you can solve those common laptop issues. We have limited this article to only include laptops that run Microsoft’s Windows operating systems.
5 Most Common Ways To Fix Hanging Laptops
- Close Unwanted Apps & Services Running In The Background
- Install The Latest Windows Updates
- Use A Cooling Pad To Prevent Laptop Overheating
- Upgrade RAM For Better Performance While Multitasking, Re-Apply Thermal Paste
- Faulty Hard Drive Could Be Slowing Down Your Laptop As Well
1. Close Unwanted Apps & Services Running In The Background

This is the first thing you should try the next time your laptop hangs. We’re sure, most of us are already aware of it, but how many of us remember to do this when the laptop hangs? Once you click the Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys simultaneously on your laptop’s keyboard, you will see the Windows Task Manager window pop up. All you need to do is, check which programs are consuming the most CPU and RAM resources. If you find any program that is unwanted and is eating up a lot of laptop computing resources, click on it and then click on the ‘End Task’ button.
Subscribe to Onsitego
Once all unwanted programs and unwanted background processes are identified and closed, your problem should be solved and the laptop should start behaving as it should. If it doesn’t help, you may have to forcefully shut down your device by holding the ‘Power’ button for a few seconds and then restart it. Do not forget to save the document you are working on so that you don’t lose critical data.

2. Install The Latest Windows Updates

If you do not install the operating system updates on time, your laptop may fail to function smoothly. It is advisable to always run a legal copy of Microsoft Windows to be able to download updates as soon as they are released. If you are using Windows 10, the update option is automatically turned on. In most cases, automatic updates and the latest drivers are available online.
To update your software through Windows, follow the steps below:
How To Install Operating System Update On Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1
- Open Control Panel
- Click the System and Security option. Next, click on the Windows Update option.
- Windows Update will check for any available updates for your laptop. If there are any new updates found, you will be able to see the available updates. (We recommend installing all the important updates first).
How To Install Operating System Update On Windows 10
- Open Settings
- Click on Update & Security
- Click on Windows Update
- Click the Check for updates button
- Click the Restart Now button after the update has been downloaded on your device.
3. Use A Cooling Pad To Prevent Laptop Overheating

Laptops may also slow down when their processor doesn’t function at optimal clock speeds, and that might happen when the laptop heats up and the processor has to lower its clock speed in order to maintain safe operating temperatures. This issue is called performance throttling. When a laptop overheats, its fans work in full swing, and you might hear unusually loud sounds generated by the cooling fan inside the laptop. This is a good sign that your laptop is overheating.
To stop performance throttling, you need to make sure that your laptop is efficiently dissipating heat generated in its internals. Moreover, you also need to make sure that dust isn’t blocking exhausts and air vents from where the laptop pushes our hot air. Clogged air vents can pose a big problem.
The best way to avoid laptop overheating is to use a cooling pad. Laptop coolers are meant to provide additional cooling. Fans inside the laptop cooling pad suck in hot air from the laptop’s air exhaust vents and extract hot air outside. This helps the laptop in staying cool. Also, always keep the laptop on a hard or flat surface so that hot air can exit easily. Uneven and soft surfaces like a blanket, pillow or your lap obstruct the laptop’s airflow.

Sometimes, the laptop’s CPU can’t dissipate heat efficiently because the thermal paste (also known as thermal compound) has worn off. The thermal compound helps heat transfer from the CPU or the GPU to the heat sink. If the thermal paste has worn off, you need to visit an authorised or trusted laptop service engineer and get them to re-apply a high-quality thermal paste.
Protect Your Laptop with Onsitego's Repair Services
- 90-day warranty on laptop service & spare parts
- Safe & hassle-free laptop repair service at home
- Pay for repairs after service
4. Upgrade RAM For Better Performance While Multitasking

If your laptop has been constantly freezing, insufficient RAM could also be a reason. It is necessary to have enough RAM to keep the system running smoothly. This makes sure that all the programs that you run simultaneously can stay in RAM concurrently.
If you run multiple heavy apps (like Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, AutoCAD, or Visual Studio) at once or open a lot of heavy files at the same time, your laptop may get hung if it doesn’t have enough RAM to load all those apps or files. You may either have to upgrade to a laptop with a higher RAM configuration or upgrade your existing laptop to add more RAM (provided that it supports RAM upgrades).
One of the easiest ways to find out if the laptop has a RAM issue is – when you first turn on your device and it runs perfectly fine but in a few hours the laptop begins to slow down, files take too long to open, and websites fail to load quickly. This can be due to insufficient RAM. Apart from this, if you notice that your laptop constantly keeps restarting, this is also a clear indication of faulty RAM.
5. Faulty Hard Drive Could Be Slowing Down Your Laptop As Well

Most modern mid-range and high-end laptops now feature SSDs (Solid State Drives). However, older laptops and some modern entry-level laptops still use HDDs (Hard Disk Drives). If your laptop uses a hard disk drive and if you notice an unusual clicking sound every time you turn the laptop on, this is an indication that something is wrong with the hard disk drive. Do not take this lightly!
In case there is a serious issue with the hard drive and it crashes, you can lose important data due to hard disk drive malfunction. This is why we recommend saving all your important documents and files on an external hard drive as well so that you don’t lose important files. It’s a good routine to back up important files before it’s too late.
Just to be sure if the hard drive has really malfunctioned, you can open File Explorer on your laptop and follow these steps:
- Click the Windows button on the bottom left and search for File Explorer .
- Right-click on the drive you want to check.
- Go to Properties .
- In Windows , go to Tools and click on Check . If the hard drive is causing the problem, you will find it here.
You can also run SpeedFan to check for possible issues with the hard drive. If the hard drive has malfunctioned, you will need help from the brand’s authorised service centre for replacement.
If you’re planning to buy a new laptop , we recommend buying it along with the Onsitego Extended Warranty Plan to ensure a longer life for your device. Our extended warranty covers all the defects and malfunctions covered in the standard manufacturer’s warranty and you can buy Onsitego’s extended warranty plan with up to 4 years of validity on top of the standard 1-year manufacturer warranty.

Solve Your Laptop Hanging Problem with 6 Helpful Tips!

Hello and welcome to another tips & tricks blog by Macviewer. Today I am going to tell you common reasons why laptops hang and how to solve the laptop hanging problem. Let’s start with some real cases that I have come across at Macviewer.
Recently I got a call from an IT firm in Pune with a request to check their office laptop that was hanging consistently in the middle of a client presentation. Another day we had an inquiry to repair an office laptop that stopped working completely and the team was worried about losing the data. You can imagine the scary situation both the cases had!
My team of engineers reached out in time and took care of the issue. But it made us clear that a hanging laptop or laptop hanging problem can create chaos in offices or even with professional individuals.
So let’s learn what are the common causes behind laptop hang issues and how to resolve these problems at home.
6 Tips to Solve Laptop Hanging Problem
1. laptop hanging problem: excess of tasks.
One thing I have noticed with office laptops is that employees often open multiple programs in a day and never close those programs ever! Especially if you are working at a design or a development company, you must be familiar with opening multiple tasks as any program is required at any time of the day. This can be one of the reasons why your laptop freezes or laptop hanging problem.
You can simply turn off the unwanted programs running in the background and get rid of the laptop freezing. If you are not sure which one to close, simply use the command- “ Ctrl + Alt + Delete ” and the Task Manager will appear in front of you. The Task Manager window shows how many programs are running in the background and the RAM consumed by each program. You can simply select tasks/programs consuming maximum RAM and close them from Task Manager.
2. Laptop Hanging Problem: Overheating
One of the common reasons why laptops hang often is the overheating problem . An overheated laptop automatically slows down the processing and ultimately freezes the laptop. There can be multiple reasons why your laptop gets hot while you are working on it.
The first reason is the one we discussed above; excess tasks running in the background. Another reason can be due to dust & dirt clogging in the cooling system. If so, clean it with cotton or a cleaning brush. Or you can simply invest in a cooling pad that will prevent your laptop from overheating, laptop hanging problem and offer relief from multiple similar problems.
3. Laptop Hanging Problem: Update
If you are a Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 or Windows 10 user, I recommend you to check the latest system updates available. If it has been an awful time that you have not installed your Windows updates, it’s high time you do.
You can go to the control panel or settings, and check for the update & security/system & security option. Check for the updates, click on the Windows Update button, and install it. You might have to restart your laptop once the installation is complete. Hence, make sure you save all your unsaved important data before you install an update.
4. Laptop Hanging Problem: Insufficient RAM
Too much work pressure on a tiny little RAM can ultimately cause laptop hanging problems. How often do you multitask on your laptop? If you are a multitasker and access numerous programs at a time where you can not even apply the solution mentioned in point #1, you can consider replacing your laptop’s RAM.
Many office laptops have standard RAM and internal memories suitable for all employees. But when a professional developer or graphic designer starts working on such laptops, they often complain about freezing laptops. If you have noticed similar conditions in your office, you can consider replacing old RAM with better-capacity RAM only if the laptop allows it!
5. Laptop Hanging Problem: Hardware Problem
Dropped your laptop from a height? Spilled hot coffee on it? Hit a cockroach with it? Hahaha, someone might do that, you never know! Even if you have not noticed any damage, after a certain period, laptop hardware needs maintenance.
If there is a hardware problem, you can replace the component or consult a professional laptop repair service company. It can be due to a hard drive issue as well. If so, you can consider replacing HDD with Solid State Drives that work faster.
6. Laptop Hanging Problem: Malware
Let’s not forget that all corporate laptops are constantly exposed to the internet. All the employees require an internet connection to access information online or to perform daily tasks. In such cases, there are higher chances of malware attack or virus breached issues.
If so, you can always install branded and reliable anti-virus & anti-malware software on your laptops. I strongly recommend the installation of security software especially to corporate offices as the laptops perform on crucial data and companies cannot afford to lose vital information to malware & viruses.
Even after trying all the above simple & easy solutions to repair laptop hanging problems, if your laptop still freezes, take it to Macviewer. Macviewer is a laptop repair company in Pune & Pimpri Chinchwad with a team of experienced engineers who are skilled to resolve every type of laptop issue. Does your Windows PC keep freezing or locking up? Whether your computer is frozen right now, hangs at startup or shutdown, or freezes at random, there are easy ways to narrow down the cause and fix the problem permanently. This wikiHow article will cover several simple troubleshooting tricks that are sure to help you resolve issues with freezing and hanging on Windows 10, 11, and 8.1.
Things You Should Know
- If a particular app has locked up Windows, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager, select the app, and then click End Task.
- Malware and viruses can cause your PC to freeze, so make sure to run a full or offline scan with Windows Defender.
- You can check your RAM, scan your hard drive(s) for errors, and repair corrupted system files using simple built-in tools.
- Windows Update can check for and install updated drivers that may resolve issues. But if an update caused your PC to freeze, you can always roll it back.
If Your PC is Frozen Right Now

- If the screen went black when your computer froze, try pressing Windows key + Ctrl + Shift + B to reset your video card drivers. [1] X Trustworthy Source Microsoft Support Technical support and product information from Microsoft. Go to source

- If you can't open Task Manager this way, try pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del and then clicking Task Manager . You can also right-click the Start menu and select Task Manager .
- Once Task Manager opens, look for the app using the most CPU, Memory, Disk, or GPU resources.
- To stop the problem app, click its name and select End Task . It may take a few moments for the app to close.

- If your PC's screen turned blue before it froze (an error known as the Blue Screen of Death ), you can analyze the crash dump files to see which software, hardware, or drivers lead to the crash.
Disconnect Devices at Startup & Shutdown

Run a Malware & Virus Scan

- Press Windows key + S and type security .
- Click Windows Security .

- Full scan: This does a deep scan of all files on your PC and can take up to an hour.
- Microsoft Defender Antivirus (offline scan): This scan reboots your PC into safe mode without internet support to remove more difficult malware. The scan shouldn't take more than 15 minutes.

Check for Software and Driver Updates

- Click the Windows Start menu and select Settings .
- For Windows 10, click Update & Security > Windows Update . On Windows 11, just click Windows Update .

- Sometimes BIOS/UEFI updates , third-party hardware, and other manufacturer updates won't be available through Windows Update. You can check your manufacturer's support website to find out if any updates are available directly through them.
- If a BIOS update is available, make sure your PC is plugged in to a reliable power source before flashing the BIOS. Otherwise, if your PC loses power during the update, you could render your computer unbootable.
Try a Simplified Startup

- Press Windows key + S .
- Type msconfig and press Enter .

- Press Windows key + S and type startup apps .
- Click Startup Apps in the search results. [3] X Research source

- You can always launch these apps from the Start menu as needed even if they don't start automatically.

Scan the File System

- If you're using Windows 11, you may see Windows Terminal (Admin) . This will work, too.

- This command connects to Windows Update to get the necessary files required to fix corruption. It can take up to 30 minutes to complete, but typically won't take that long.
- After a few moments, you'll see "The operation completed successfully." At that point, you can continue to the next step.

- If corrupted files are detected, they'll be replaced with repaired versions.
- If the scan does not find corruption, you'll see the message "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."
- If you see a message that says, "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation," try running the scan again in Safe Mode .
Check Your Hard Drive

- If you have multiple hard drives, remember to check them all.

- Repeat for all drives connected to your PC.
Run a RAM Test

- First, save any work you have open, as your PC will reboot to use the tool.
- Type mdsched.exe and press Enter .

- The scan may take a while, so feel free to get up and come back later.
- Because this tool won't always show the test results, we'll show you how to find them once Windows boots back up.

- If no errors are found, the issue is not likely related to RAM.
Disable Link State Power Management

Clear Cached and Unneeded Files

- Type disk cleanup .
- Click Disk Cleanup . [8] X Trustworthy Source Microsoft Support Technical support and product information from Microsoft. Go to source

- If you're still low on hard drive space, your PC may continue to freeze and crash. Check out these tricks for freeing up hard drive space.
Roll Back the Latest Update

- If you're unable to use Windows at all because it keeps freezing, try booting into Safe Mode before you perform these steps.

- Most updates will attempt to reinstall automatically, so you might want to pause updates to see if uninstalling this latest update fixes your problem. To pause updates, return to Windows Updates and select a time period on "Pause Updates."
Run a System Restore

- If you don't have any restore points, you'll need to try another method.

- System Restore will not affect your personal files.

Disable Fast Startup (Windows 8.1)

Reset Your PC

- If the freezing does not continue, reinstall your apps one by one to narrow down the problem. If a particular app brings back the symptoms, the issue is related to that app or a device driver it uses to run.
- If the freezing continues after resetting your PC and doesn't correlate with an app or device you've installed, the issue is likely hardware related.

Close any unwanted apps or services that are operating in the background.
Install the most recent Windows updates.
To Avoid Laptop Overheating, Use A Cooling Pad.
Upgrade RAM for better multitasking performance, reapply thermal paste
A faulty hard drive may also be slowing down your laptop.
Steps That Should Be Followed WHEN THE LAPTOP HANGS
There are various methods through which you can tackle this problem of hanging. Follow these methods or steps to avoid hanging of laptop.

1. Reboot or Restart Your Laptop
Restarting if a Hp Laptop Hangs is usually the most Common Way To Unhang The Laptop . This allows your system to reset and begin again.
Holding down the power button for a couple of seconds is the best technique to restart a hanging laptop . This allows your laptop to resume securely without being disrupted by a catastrophic power outage. Also dis connect any headphones or additional cords, as these things might create errors when your computer restarts. If your laptop hangs while starting up again, it's time to look into other possible solutions.
Restart and reboot are one of the recommended ways to make your laptop speed faster if any temporary hang glitches occurred. It will set up or refresh the laptop system again to increase the work efficiency of the laptop.
2. Remove or uninstall the extra apps and software -

This is the first thing you should attempt if your laptop screen hangs. We all are aware of this trick. When you simultaneously press the Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys on your laptop's keyboard, the Windows Task Manager window will appear. Recognize which apps or services are using the most CPU and RAM resources. If you locate an unwanted software that is consuming a lot of laptop resources, select and then choose the 'End Task' button option.
Many apps and software on your laptop or PC are not useful and usable for you. They only take up a lot of space on the memory card on the laptop which is one of the reasons for the slower performance and hanging of the laptop. That's why it is essential to remove these unnecessary apps and software applications from laptops and provide faster speed and avoid hanging.
To delete or uninstall these unused applications or apps follow these steps-:
1. Turn on your laptop or PC.
2. Refresh the main window page.
3. Check out all the unused apps and software that your laptop has.
4. Make a list of them or tick them to uninstall.
5. Select them one by one and delete them by clicking the right edges on your laptop.
6. selected unused applications will get uninstalled from your device which increases the memory space of your laptop and reduces the chance of hanging.
This is how you can easily handle this problem to resolve it at a level.
3. Provide a limit to apps
There are many apps that run within excessive limits and take up a lot of memory space in the laptop which leads to slower performance and hanging of the laptop system.
To provide apps to run within restricted limits follow these steps-:
1. Go to the "task manager" tool option on a windows 10 laptop.
2. you can also press Ctrl+Shift+Esc on the keyboard of the laptop to directly access the task manager option on the window panel.
3. A tab opens on your laptop display screen to all the software and apps that your laptop has.
4. To run less used software or apps within a limit click on the right edge of the laptop and check the details of the application.
5. Select the "change limit "option to change the limit of less usable apps on your laptop.
6. After changing the limit refresh your laptop.
Once all the undesirable apps and background processes have been discovered and stopped functioning, your problem should be resolved, and the laptop should resume normal operation. If that also doesn't work, it's time to aggressively shut down your laptop by holding the 'Power' button for a few seconds before restarting it. Don't forget to save the document you're working on so you don't lose important information
4. Install the most recent Windows updates.
If you do not install operating system updates on time, your laptop may stop working correctly. It is best to always run a legal edition of Microsoft Windows to get regular updates as they are available.
How to Download and Install an Operating System Update in Windows 10
-Navigate to the Settings app.
-Select Update & Security.
-Select Windows Update.
-Then Check for required updates if any by selecting the Check for updates option.
-Download the update to your device,
-Now select the Restart Now option.
Insufficient RAM might potentially be the cause of your laptop's frequent freezing. Enough RAM is required to keep the system working smoothly. This ensures that all of the applications you run at the same time may remain in RAM at the same time.
If you use any heavy programs (such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, AutoCAD, or Visual Studio) simultaneously or open a large number of heavy files, your laptop may hang if it doesn't have enough RAM to load all of those apps or files. You may need to switch to a laptop with greater RAM or update your current laptop to add more RAM (provided that it supports RAM upgrades ).
One of the easiest ways to unhang your laptop is to recognize whether your laptop has a RAM problem when you initially switch it on, and everything works great, but after a few hours, the laptop begins to slow down, files take too long to open, and websites fail to load quickly. It may be because of a lack or less RAM storage. Aside from that, if your laptop is continually restarting, this is a strong symptom of defective RAM.
If the memory space in your laptop is less than it automatically leads to hanging. So, choose your laptop ram wisely. Here are some steps that you can follow to keep the RAM up-to-date.
Virus, cache files, and junk
Install antivirus apps and clear cache files and junk from the laptop to avoid the problem of hanging.
•Windows defender, security scan is one of the best options in apps to protect your laptop from viruses, malware, or spyware.
- Clear web browser history and cache files
You have to clean the browser history and cache files to restore more space to your laptop and avoid the problem of hanging.
6. A faulty hard drive may also be slowing down your laptop.
SSDs are now standard in most current mid-range and high-end laptops (Solid State Drives). However, HDDs are still used in older computers and some newer entry-level laptops (Hard Disk Drives). If your laptop has a hard disc drive and you hear a strange clicking sound every time you switch it on, it indicates something is wrong with the hard disc drive. Take this very seriously! You may lose vital data due to hard disc drive malfunction if there is a significant problem with the hard drive and it crashes. This is why we recommend storing all of your crucial papers and data on an external hard drive to avoid losing important files. It's an excellent habit to get into before it's too late.
To ensure that the hard disc has indeed failed, launch File Explorer on your laptop and do the following steps:
-Search for File Explorer by clicking the Windows button in the bottom left corner.
-Then, press the right-click button on the drive you wish to examine and select Properties.
-Navigate to Properties. and then go to the Tools menu and choose Check. If the hard disc is the source of the problem, you can discover it here.
-You may also use SpeedFan to check for potential hard disc problems. You must contact the brand's authorized service center to replace the hard disc if it fails.
7. To Avoid Laptop Overheating, Use A Cooling Pad.
When your laptop hangs up, it is a clear indication that its processors do not operate at ideal clock rates, which may occur when the laptop warms up and the CPU must reduce its clock speed to maintain safe operating temperatures. This is known as performance throttling. When a laptop overheats, its fans kick into high gear, and you may notice abnormally loud sounds produced by the cooling fan within the laptop. This indicates that your laptop is overheated.
To prevent performance throttling, ensure that your laptop adequately drains heat created within its internals. Furthermore, you must ensure that dust is not blocking exhausts and air vents from which the laptop pumps hot air. Blocked-up air vents can be a significant issue. Using a cooling pad is the best approach to avoid laptop overheating. Laptop coolers are designed to give extra cooling. Fans within the laptop cooling pad draw hot air from the laptop's air vents and expel it outdoors. This allows the laptop to keep cool. Also, always place the laptop on a firm or flat surface to allow hot air to escape readily. Uneven and soft surfaces, such as a blanket, pillow, or your lap, block the airflow to the laptop. Sometimes the laptop's CPU cannot adequately disperse heat because the thermal paste (also known as thermal compound) has worn away.
If the thermal paste has worn away, you should take your laptop to an authorized or reputable laptop service engineer and have them reapply for a high-quality thermal paste.
8. Service Centre
If the problem of hanging is not solved by the above-mentioned methods then the problem is much more serious than you think. Take your laptop to a service center to resolve the hanging problem permanently.
Why Does Your Laptop Hang?
Every laptop is used uniquely and is challenged differently, whether ecologically or technologically. Every failure is distinct in some way. You can only make the best approximation without having an expert look at the precise situation. A freeze is a general sign of failure, whether the cause is hardware (such as inadequate memory) or malware.
1. Failure of the Operating System
If your laptop passes the Power-On Self-Test (POST) but then stops on a black screen, you may have an issue with your operating system; the system files may have been corrupted due to malware or human mistake. During startup, you can try to access your laptop's system partition, which will allow you to fix and reinstall your system. It depends on your laptop maker how this works; on some machines, you hit the "Del" key at a specified phase of setup, while others use F10 or F2.
2. Hardware Issue
Freezing on startup might indicate that your hardware is failing. Problems with your hard drive will corrupt your data and prevent your operating system from launching. RAM is a typical source of boot issues; like your hard disc, RAM may be damaged by malware or just malfunction with age. Memory diagnostic tools may be used to test your RAM. An overheating motherboard, an inadequate power supply, or even a faulty CPU can all cause freezing. To identify faulty hardware, you may need to get the laptop examined by a specialist.
Conclusion:
Take care of your laptop like you would your friends and family. Always clean them and take measures while using detachable devices from unknown sources.

Laptop hangs a lot and sometimes totally unresponsive
Original title: Laptop hangs
I bought a new msi laptop around a month ago. From the very first day it used to hang. I thought I'd give it time after the updates were installed but there seems to be no change. It still hangs very randomly, sometimes when i am watching a Youtube video and sometimes when I am playing a game. It goes totally unresponsive and requires a hard reboot. I searched the internet and found people with similar issues but found no appropriate solution. Can anyone kindly help?

This could be due to display driver incompatibility with Windows 10. Let's try the following steps and check the status.
Step 1: Place the computer in clean boot state to avoid any third party software conflict
To help troubleshoot error messages and other issues, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This kind of startup is known as a "clean boot." A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
Placing your system in Clean Boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue. You need to follow the steps from the article mentioned below to perform a Clean Boot.
How to perform a clean boot in Windows
Note : Refer " How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting " to reset the computer to start as normal after troubleshooting.
Step 2: Update the display driver in Device Manager
a. Press Windows key + X and click Device Manager
b. Expand Display adapters
c. Right click the Wi-Fi adapter and click Update driver software
d. Click Search automatically for updated driver software
Step 3: Visit the computer manufacturer's support website and install the latest display adapter for the same computer model as you have and check.
Hope this information is helpful. Please feel free to reply in case you face any other issues with Windows in future.

Thank you for the update and apologies for the miscommunication.
It is not Wi-Fi adapter, it is display driver itself. Right click the current display drive under Display adapters and update driver software.

Since I've been used to dealing with overheating, a wild guess could be this. I'd say you could try to monitor system temperatures in order to rule out CPU throttling. I personally use CPUID HW Monitor* which will tell you a lot of potentially useful (or just interesting) info. Under idle load, I'd say a big gaming laptop should definitely not get over 60 degrees. I speculate at around 90 degrees throttling would take place. Another even wilder guess is just to check the power options, as power saver or balanced are usually a terrible choice when it really matters.
Still just wild guesses. But to be honest the info you provide of your hardware and OS are as vague as it could be, thus limiting how many wild guesses can be made. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Thank you for the update.
I would suggest you to run system maintenance troubleshooter and check if it helps. Please follow these steps:
a. Type troubleshooting in the search box on taskbar and click on it in search results. b. Click " View all " and then click " System Maintenance ". c. Click " Next " and follow on-screen instructions.
You may also run System File Checker tool and check the status.
System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files.
Press Windows key + X and click Command Prompt (Admin)
Type the following command and press Enter
sfc /scannow
Note: Do not close this Command Prompt window until the verification is 100% complete. The scan results will be shown after this process is finished.
Hope this helps.
I am sure it's not overheating problem. I am using an msi GL62 6QC, it has an extra set of fans built in as a cooler boost. I use these whenever I am using a lot of processing power like gaming. I also set the power option on high perfromance. Thanks for your interest anyway!!
Thanks for your interest!
the command prompt told me it found some corrupt files but was unable to fix them. It directed me to open C:/Windows/Logs/CBS/CBS.log
